Following a series of exceptionally high grade gold-copper-cobalt results at the Carlow Castle project, Pilbara miner Artemis Resources (ASX:ARV) is back on site with another drilling campaign.

The air core drilling will target additional extensions to the mineralised zone with approximately 5,000 metres to be drilled.

The quickfire drilling activity will be combined with the company’s existing sub-audio magnetics data, surface mapping and geochemistry results to focus additional exploration in the new year.

Artemis has flagged resource development drilling at Carlow Castle in the first quarter of 2019.

Meanwhile the company continues to work on its mineral resource update, as geologists pour over a massive dataset containing 24,000 metres of recent drilling.

The mineral resource update is anticipated in early 2019.

Commenting on the imminent drilling activity Artemis chief executive officer Wayne Bramwell said:

This drill program is testing strike extensions to the east and west of the existing 1.2km of strike drilled at Carlow Castle to date and provides Artemis with a running start into 2019.

“The next stage of resource development post the release of the resource update will include a targeted RC and diamond programme to provide additional samples for geotechnical, structural and metallurgical test work,” he said.

While Artemis gets busy at Carlow Castle the company is also continuing to bring the nearby Radio Hill plant – the only independently-owned processing facility in the Pilbara – into production.

The company also has exposure to Pilbara conglomerate gold through its own tenements and a joint venture with Canadian prospector Novo Resources.
