Buxton Resources Limited (ASX:BUX) has discovered a large undrill-tested gold in soil anomaly at its Goldmember Project in Western Australia.
The new five sq. km anomaly is located within Buxton’s 1,414 sq. km package of tenure in the Eastern Goldfields district of Western Australia. The company’s tenure includes two exploration licenses granted in January 2020 and six surrounding applications.
The new anomaly was defined by recently completed soil sampling on a one km grid basis over the entirety of E15/1919 and E28/2922.
The sampling programnme identified several areas which were subsequently followed-up by infill sampling at 500m and 125m spacing.
Managing Director, Eamon Hannon, said this work has resulted in the definition of a distinct soil gold anomaly named Jeffery which is about 4km x 2km elongated to the north-northwest.
Thirteen calcrete samples within and around the Jeffery soil anomaly area were collected and selected for assaying as part of the infill program. Three calcrete samples within the Jeffrey soil anomaly area returned over 20 ppb Au with a maximum of 26.5 ppb Au.
Mr Hannon said the highly encouraging results provides evidence of a proximal bedrock source of the gold and that Buxton will continue to advance this new and exciting gold occurrence over the coming months.
