Results from a third drill hole at the Candelas lithium brine project in Hombre Muerto salar, Argentina, confirm brine at the project over a 2.5 kilometre strike extent, according to Galan Lithium (ASX:GLN).

Drilling, casing and sampling of the third drillhole (C‐03‐19) at the Candelas has now been completed.

The drillhole lies approximately 2.5kms south of the maiden drillhole (C‐01‐19) which provided outstanding results including an intercept of 192m @ 802 mg/l Li with low impurities.

Downhole geophysics indicated highly conductive and high Specific Gravity (SG) brine was still being encountered to the bottom of the hole resulting in the hole being further deepened to a final depth of 454m.

Several packer tests were performed using the downhole data as guidance which indicated a preferred section from 313m to 454m with conductivities in excess of 200mS/cm and SG readings ~1.19 g/cm3.

The hole was then cement cased to 315m and left open to the bottom of the hole within the brine section. Final samples have now been undertaken with results expected in the next fortnight to allow for the Easter break.

Meanwhile, the fourth drillhole (C‐04‐19) has now begun and lies ~3km south of C‐03‐19 and 5.3km south of drill hole C‐01‐19 on CSMAT Line 3.
Shares in Galan were trading at 30c on Wednesday.
