Cobre Limited (ASX: CBE) has officially commenced Diamond Drilling (DD) operations at its wholly owned Ngami Copper Project (NCP), located in Botswana’s Kalahari Copperbelt (KCB).
This drilling program builds on recent successful hydrogeological and metallurgical testwork, and aims to significantly enhance the resource potential at Ngami. The key objectives of the drilling campaign include:
-
Extending Mineralisation: Drilling will target extensions to the mineralisation to the northeast of the Comet Target. This will involve testing several kilometres of prospective, untested strike, which could contribute to expanding the Exploration Target currently estimated at between 103 and 166Mt @ 0.38 to 0.46% Cu.
-
Infill Drilling for Resource Upgrades: The programme will also focus on detailed infill drilling to convert approximately 10-20% of the Exploration Target into Indicated and Inferred Resource categories, supporting a future Mineral Resource Estimate.
The total drilling campaign is set to encompass around 4,800 metres of DD. A decision on the final infill drilling program will be made following the completion of the exploration holes.
“We’re thrilled to be drilling once again at NCP,” said Adam Wooldridge, CEO of Cobre Limited. “This crucial drilling programme will not only provide key resource estimates but also further hydrogeological data to support our ongoing ISCR development. We are especially excited about targeting the untested areas along strike from the Comet Target, which has the potential to expand the already significant strike length of drill-confirmed mineralisation at this project.”
Cobre’s ongoing drilling activities are a major step forward in advancing the Ngami Copper Project as it continues to explore and expand its resource base within the Kalahari Copperbelt region.
