DMC Mining has bolstered widespread copper, identifying new anomalous zones of the conductor metal and gold downhole at its exciting Gibb River Copper Project in the far north of Western Australia.

The company is applying acid to lacklustre observations from the previous owners leaving numerous behind numerous opportunities for significant discoveries.

DMC says its latest assays show anomalous metals associated with structurally brecciated and hydrothermally altered zones within a previously unexplored Carson Volcanics unit holding the now-illustrated potential to host deposits of base and precious metals.

Results:

  • 3m at 244 ppm Cu and 21 ppb Au from 199m, including 1m at
366 ppm Cu from 201m, and 1m at 37 ppb Au from 199m.
  • 4m at 242 ppm Cu from 208m, including 1m at 332 ppm Cu
    from 209m.
  • 3m at 85 ppb Au from 189m, including 1m at 161 from 189m and
    1m at 94 ppb from 191m.

DMC Executive Chairman David Sumich said the results provided proof of concept for its exploration model.

The Project has widespread copper anomalism across 27 historic drill holes and now includes this recent diamond drill hole,” he said.

“The exploration model is for Zambian style sedimentary exhalative or Mississippi valley type deposit around the Menuairs Dome.”

The anomalous copper and gold results within the Carson Volcanics confirm metals are spreading wide laterally and stratigraphically. Its presence ten kilometres from historical outcrop drilling to the north supports a vast exploration potential at the project.

Next steps

DMC is now progressing with the application to grant while reviewing the exploration rationale for the region and expects completed HyLogging from CSIRO/GSWA to be made available soon.
