Forrestania Resources has got a strong whiff of a potentially extensive lithium-bearing pegmatite system at its namesake project in Western Australia’s southern Yilgarn region.

RC-drilling at South Iron Cap East and Giant, with 624m and 670m drilled, has revealed 6 metres of mineralisation at 40m depth.

Forrestania Managing Director Michael Anderson is excited about the potential for a more extensive system and has interpreted this finding as a small part of a vast lithium-targeted reserve.

We are extremely encouraged by the outcome of this drilling programme. In addition to the recently announced thick pegmatites at Calypso, we have now discovered visible spodumene in pegmatite at South Iron Cap East,” Mr Anderson said.

“We have discovered visible spodumene in pegmatite at South Iron Cap East. This confirms that our systematic exploration strategy at Forrestania is effective and that we are focused on highly prospective areas for lithium-bearing pegmatites.

According to Mr Anderson, the lithium-focused efforts are progressing at both the Eastern Goldfields in Australia and the Hydra Lithium Project in James Bay, Canada, where the company has recently formed a joint venture.

“Comprehensive field work programmes are planned and in progress, and we remain confident in the discovery potential at all three project areas,” he said.

Forrestania is planning the follow-up drill at South Iron Cap East while anticipating the full suite of assays in approximately six weeks.
