Western Australian explorer Galileo Mining continues to build its reputation as one of the most active junior explorers on the local bourse, announcing twin drilling campaigns commencing today and further drilling later this year.

The latest exploration will occur across its multi-commodity Norseman project, located in the state’s Esperance-Goldfields region.

Galileo will be targeting 800m of RC drilling at its recently uncovered Subzero copper prospect.

The company will also split 700m of RC reconnaissance drilling between its Goblin lithium-pegmatite prospect and at the Mission Sill gold prospect.

Subzero has recently captured the attention of the explorer, with a raft of exploration occurring in quick time since it uncovered surface samples at high as 19.9%% copper at a historic prospecting shaft.

A subsequent Moving Loop Electro-Magnetic survey highlighted a highly conductive target beneath the shaft, with over 2.1km of strike length.

The depth to the top of the conductors is estimated between 80 and 110 metres below surface.

Additional targets from the MLEM survey will be drilled in a second program later this year.

Galileo Mining managing director Brad Underwood commented; “We are excited to begin our first drilling campaign at the Subzero Prospect where surface indications and geophysical surveys suggest the potential for a large mineralised system.

“Galileo is a well-funded and active explorer with a strong commitment to drilling prospective targets which present an opportunity to create value for our shareholders.”

While the company gets underway at Norseman it continues to develop its tenements in the Fraser Range, with drilling anticipated in September at its Lantern nickel-copper prospect.

Underwood holds a strong knowledge of the Fraser Range, serving eight years as general manager of the Creasy Group’s exploration in the region.

The Group has unlocked the globally significant Nova-Bollinger nickel copper deposit within the region and is now focussing its efforts on the surging Silver Knight prospect.
