Killi Resources Limited (ASX:KLI) has commenced earthworks at West Tanami to enable to company to access both gold and rare earth prospects across the project identified during desktop evaluations.

The company is reinstating the tracks initially constructed by Barrick and Tanami Gold in the late 1990’s early 2000’s for their first pass RAB/AC drill programme. Reinstating the access tracks will enable an efficient and thorough heritage survey which is scheduled for May-end/early-June and enable access for the drill programme scheduled to commence June 2022.

The drilling will test structural targets identified as prospective for gold mineralisation as well as the geological unconformity potentially responsible for rare earth mineralisation.

The team has been itching to get on the ground this year, and its fantastic to see everyone in the field, preparing for the upcoming drill programme,” CEO, Kathryn Cutler, said.

“We are all looking forward to working with and building a strong relationship with the Tjurabalan People, which will enable us to successfully explore the project area and positively impact those who live in the region.”

Further Exploration Work

Mapping of surface outcrop including veining and alteration has commenced and will be followed by a surface geochemical programme over key prospects across the project, in the form of rock chips and soils. These samples will be collected for both gold and rare earth exploration and analysis.

Field work will focus on confirming historical geochemical anomalies, as well as testing new conceptual and theoretical targets including ground truthing the gravity high features identified previously.

A close-spaced, low-flown magnetics and radiometrics survey is booked and due to commence in June/July. The survey will be flown on 50m spaced lines 20-30m above the ground and will cover ~1,000 sq.  km. An aircore drill rig, with the capabilities for percussion drilling has been engaged and confirmed for June/July this year.
