Kingsland (ASX:KNG) confirm massive Leliyn graphite - The Pick Online Magazine

An electromagnetic survey has backed up the immense scale of Leliyn, outlining dimensions of a graphitic schist wholly consistent with Kinsland Minerals’ ambitious exploration target at its graphite project in the Northern Territory.

The survey generated a strong response across the area underpinning the 16-27Mt contained graphite Exploration Target, where drilling is now underway to convert a maiden JORC resource.

And that target covers just a quarter of a 20-kilometre-long graphitic schist established as a bearer of high-quality graphite.

The EM survey clearly illustrates the dimensions and tonnage potential of the graphitic schist at Leliyn. RC drilling is confirming the width of the graphitic schist unit and we are eagerly awaiting assay results,” Kingsland Managing Director Richard Maddocks said.

Drilling has already returned an early success, with the first holes intersecting broad sections of a suitably blackened schist.

Forward plan

Kingsland believe its initial target from Leliyn is just part of a graphite discovery that easily qualifies as a globally significant tier-one asset in a tier-one location, with graphite prominent among the critical mineralslargely dominated by Chinese production.

A diamond rig has arrived on-site, currently spinning away alongside RC drilling and first assays expected to start coming in next month as Kingsland plot more drilling to build up its resource.
