Lunnon Metals Limited’s (ASX: LM8) final metallurgical drill programme hole has recorded an impressive 14.05m @ 4.13% nickel in surface diamond drilling (DD) at Foster South in Western Australia.

Assay results for CD2906W3 were set to high priority and have now returned the following outstanding intersection (>1.0% Ni cut- off, depth is metres downhole):CD2906W3: 14.05m @ 4.13% Ni, 0.25% Cu, 0.08% Co, 0.52g/t Pd, 0.32g/t Pt, 49ppm As (876.00m)

CD2906W3 is the final hole in a programme designed to collect core for metallurgical test work at Foster South, a high-grade deposit at the Foster-Baker project (FBA), part of the company’s Kambalda Nickel Project (KNP).

This latest Lunnon Metals’ DD hole was designed to “twin” historice WMC Resources Ltd (WMC) hole, CD2906W2 which itself intersected 12.05m @ 4.54% Ni from a downhole depth of 881.00m.

This result confirms the width and grade of the historical WMC intercept and will add tonnes and nickel metal to the Mineral Resource estimate (MRE) locally.

The Foster nickel mine operated between 1981 and 1994, delivering 2.37 million tonnes of ore grading 2.57% Ni for 61,129 tonnes of nickel metal. Foster South hosts a current MRE of 0.34 million tonnes at 4.7% Ni (16,000 tonnes of nickel metal) and remains open down plunge.

The Foster South deposit was not accessed or mined during Foster’s operational life and is located just 300 metres beyond the end of the existing decline development.
