Mimecast (NASDAQ: MIME), a leading security and cyber resilience company has announced its attestation under the Information Security Registered Assessors Program (IRAP), which provides the framework to endorse organisations from the private and public sectors to provide Commonwealth entities access to high-quality information and communications technology assessment services.

In March 2020, the Australian Signals Directorate (ASD) announced the cessation of the Cloud Services Certification Program (CSCP). In response to the closure of this programme, ASD stated that it will enhance its support and delivery of IRAP to deliver greater resources and higher standards to support government in maintaining its assurance and risk management activities.
Furthermore, the Australian Cyber Security Centre (ACSC) and the Digital Transformation Agency released new cloud security guidelines in July to support the secure adoption of cloud services across government and industry. The guidelines included the announcement that the ACSC will grow and enhance the Information Security Registered Assessors Program (IRAP) to further support government and industry in implementing appropriate cloud security measures and increase their cyber resilience.
While IRAP is now an attestation instead of a certification, the controls still exist as best practices and will continue to evolve.
