Miramar drills significant gold hits at 'Highway' Target - The Pick Online Magazine

Miramar Resources Limited (ASX:M2R) has confirmed “Highway” with further significant gold drilling results from its 80%-owned Gidji JV Project, located 15km north of Kalgoorlie in the Eastern Goldfields of WA.

The company has been actively exploring at Gidji since listing on the ASX in October 2020 and believes there is potential for the discovery of one or more significant new gold deposits within the previously underexplored Project.

The new drilling results come from the “Highway” target, the fourth large aircore gold footprint outlined by Miramar at Gidji since listing.

Significant results from the Highway target include: • GJAC717 – 5m @ 0.87g/t Au from 48m, including 1m @ 1.87g/t Au • GJAC718 – 1m @ 2.9g/t Au from 52m • GJAC721 – 4m @ 2.95g/t Au from 48m, including 3m @ 3.78g/t Au • GJAC725 – 8m @ 0.77g/t Au from 48m, 4m @ 1.13g/t Au • GJAC727 – 1m @ 2.53g/t Au from 51m

The Highway gold mineralisation is hosted in sediments and felsic-intermediate volcaniclastics of the Black Flag Beds, has a strike length of over 1 kilometre and remains open in all directions.

Further aircore drilling at the Blackfriars and Highway targets is planned with the aim of outlining the full extents of the targets before deeper RC and/or diamond drill testing.

Miramar’s Executive Chairman, Allan Kelly, said the new results from the Highway target emphasised the significant gold potential at Gidji being realised by Miramar through systematic exploration.

Over the last 18 months, we have outlined four large new gold targets at Gidji, each at least 1km long, and with multiple bedrock aircore intersections including several high-grade gold results,” Mr Kelly said.

“Despite straddling the Goldfields Highway and being located less than a 10-minute drive from Kalgoorlie, the Gidji Project has clearly not been effectively explored until now.

“With only a handful of deeper holes completed to date, and many more planned, we look forward to continuing to uncover the full potential of the Gidji JV Project,” he said.

All results from the April 2022 aircore programme have now been received.

Boorara North aircore drilling

Elsewhere, Miramar is about to commence a 12,000m aircore drilling campaign over the “Boorara North” target, which includes a further four km long underexplored segment of the Boorara Shear Zone.

The local geology of the Boorara North target is interpreted to match that of the Paddington and Panglo deposits, and the Marylebone-Blackfriars-Highway area, and has potential for gold and/or nickel sulphide mineralisation.
