West Australian kaolin and silica sand exploration company, Suvo Strategic Minerals Limited (ASX:SUV) has significantly extended its exploration tenure at its flagship White Knight Kaolin Project located 210km northeast of Perth.
The company has been notified today by the Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety (DMIRS) of the granting of exploration licences E70/5332 and E70/5333, increasing the area under exploration licence to more than 40,000 hectares.
Executive Director, Aaron Banks, said the expanded area was applied for after analysing evidence from a report sourced from DMIRS dating back to 1986 that suggests the company’s White Knight Kaolin Project’s resource continues north.
This was supported by desktop studies and site visits to survey and secure these prospective and highly strategic areas.
To date, the company has drilled its maiden JORC resource of 31.5Mt of bright white kaolinised granite over only 130 hectares which is less than half a percent of our granted tenure,” Mr Banks said.
“The expansion of the prospective area will provide additional exploration targets with the opportunity to further increase our resource and help accelerate a pathway to mining.
“The new tenements are likewise located close to excellent logistic solutions with direct access to multiple ports via well-established and under-utilised road and rail networks.”

The company believes that due to the projects strategic location there are multiple export options available including the Fremantle container port, Kwinana bulk terminal, Geraldton bulk terminal and the Bunbury port, all are accessible via an extensive underutilised rail and road network.
