Tape Ark, the world’s leading technical specialists in tape-to-cloud migration, appoints its first Head of Research and Development to lead the ongoing design and build enhancements for the en-masse tape to cloud ingesting.
Tech company Tape Ark has expanded its leadership team with the appointment of Andrew Van Dam as Head of Research and Development.
Andrew will lead the technical experts in the proprietary software and hardware enhancements of Tape Ark’s global tape ingest streaming technology, new service developments and manage current and future patents.
Tape Ark CEO and Founder, Guy Holmes said, Andrew has a strong bias for action. He has this innate ability to take an idea and elevate it to the next level while addressing potential implementation challenges.
His common-sense approach to coding and electronics, combined with his implementation ideas are wonderful to watch unfold.
Andrew has a unique talent for taking the complex and being able to explain it in simple terms – he makes it look easy and achievable when it is usually far from it. Before joining Tape Ark, Andrew was an Electronics Engineer across the oil and gas, university and manufacturing industries.
Working on several key projects including the Industrial Control System for factory automation, Robotics Systems for Universities, and 330KV switchyard data acquisition and protection systems for mines.
On his appointment Andrew said, “I’m excited to be moving into a role enabling me to leverage my experience with electronics, automation and robotics, in combination with my capabilities as a front and back-end software developer.
I’m focused on integrating IoT elements into Tape Ark’s streaming technology ingestion platform and driving the new product development. The successful outcomes of these initiatives will enable us to deliver a superior service solution to all our diverse range of customers.”
