Base metal developer Venturex Resources Ltd (ASX: VXR) has been granted approval for the Sulphur Springs Copper-Zinc Project by the Western Australian Minister for Environment.

Executive Director, Anthony Reilly, said the approval represents the conclusion of a comprehensive and rigorous environmental assessment process initiated in late 2016.

Work is now continuing on the preparation of applications for secondary permits required to implement the Project.

The receipt of Ministerial approval is a very significant milestone for the Company and marks the culmination of a considerable, determined effort by the Venturex team and our consultants over the last few years,” Mr Reilly said.

“Importantly, the approval substantially reduces the regulatory risk for Sulphur Springs and facilitates ongoing engagement with potential project partners and financiers.

“We now move to finalise key secondary permit applications and prepare for project execution in the full knowledge of the Ministerial approval and associated conditions.”

The Sulphur Springs project is located 144 km to the south east of Port Hedland and includes the Sulphur Springs and Kangaroo Caves deposits together with tenements along the 27 km Panorama Trend that contains six advanced targets that have returned intersections of commercial grade copper and zinc.

The Sulphur Springs Deposit shows typical VMS morphology with a copper-zinc rich massive sulphide lens that is underlain by a copper rich stringer zone up to 50m in width.

Mineralisation has been drilled over a strike of approximately 500m, and to a depth of approximately 400m below surface. Drilling below 400m vertical is sparse offering excellent exploration upside.
