Avenira Limited (ASX: AEV) has obtained key milestone in developments related to obtaining a site for its available land for its Battery Cathode Manufacturing Project in Australia’s Northern Territory.
A site has been identified within the Middle Arm Sustainable Development Precinct (MASDP) at Darwin.
It includes an extensive corridor network for utilities and has been specifically developed by the NT Government for mixed-industrial use. Detailed environmental base line studies and indigenous approvals have been conducted by the government in advance of land allocation.
The Northern Territory Government has issued a ‘do-not-deal’ commitment to Avenira over a specific parcel of land at the MASDP.
The commitment supports Avenira’s interest in securing long term land tenure in the MASDP and provides confidence to continue developing its Lithium Ferro Phosphate (LFP) Battery Cathode Manufacturing Facility.
The proposed manufacturing facility will develop precursor cathode materials using phosphate from the proposed Wonarah mine near Tennant Creek, in the Northern Territory.
Avenira consider MASDP well suited for the LFP manufacturing facility with proximity to key logistics infrastructure and access to planned renewables and lower-emissions energy. The Northern Territory Government has provided Avenira a commitment not to deal with other proponents on an approximate nine hectare area for a three month period while Avenira conducts site investigations, matures its site concept work and works towards finalising their Project Proponent Proposal for approval.
The Northern Territory Government has expressed a willingness to future extensions of the ‘do-not-deal’ period if additional time is required.
