Calima Energy’s (ASX: CE1) upcoming drilling campaign in Canada’s hottest energy province, The Montney Formation, is ramping up with the appointment of leading engineering firms with investors welcoming the news.

Calgary engineering and resource management firm Ramdar Resource Management has been appointed to manage Calima’s drilling and completion operations.

Meanwhile, Calgary-based full service EPCM firm Trialta Projects will provide design, engineering and construction management for facilities and pipeline infrastructure associated with the Calima Lands.

Dr Alan Stein, Managing Director of Calima Energy, discusses the Montney prospective resource found in British Columbia (Canada) with the Morgans network on Wednesday 15 August.

These two well respected companies bring with them a wealth of Montney experience and we are delighted to have them join the team, further building our local operating team in Canada and providing best in class services and experience,” Calima’s Managing Director Alan Stein said.

Both engineering firms have worked with many of the leading operators active in the area, including Encana and Arc Resources.

Ramdar Resource Management specialise in wellsite and drilling engineering management. They have been involved in Montney drilling since the inception of the play in 2005 where they supported delineation drilling, prior to drilling the first horizontals within the play.

Trialta Projects is actively involved in projects across British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan.

Today’s news comes after Calima announced it was anticipating a A$72 billion uplift in infrastructure spending in the Montney Formation, tipped to dramatically increase local gas prices.

Shares in Calima were trading 1c, or 20%, higher today at 6c.
