Euro Manganese have produced 99.9 per cent pure electrolytic manganese metal from the demonstration plant at its Chvaletice project in the Czech Republic.
High-purity sulphate is now under production and the pilot plant will begin commercial testing this month, followed soon after with deliveries to potential partners as it advances offtake discussions.
Euro President and Chief Executive Dr Matthew James said it was more than a significant milestone, adding the plant’s flow sheet had already been de-risked.
I look forward to receiving confirmation that HPMSM produced is on-spec and completing the commissioning process,” he said.
“We are eager to provide customers with high-purity manganese from our Demonstration Plant so they can either get started on, or continue with, their qualification process of our products.”
The plant is hoped to open bulk sample production for buyers to sample.
At the same time, optimisation and testing abiding to the flowsheet is expected to create a versatile sulphate product.
Most notably, the lithium-ion battery, and a factory sitting in the heart of the Europe is poised to feed a nascent continental battery industry from the only sizable source of manganese in the European Union.
