Hamelin Gold Limited (ASX:HMG) has successfully completed itsmMaiden exploration programme all assays received from drilling on seven gold prospects in 2022West Tanami Gold Project, Western Australia.

Highlights:

  • New zones of gold mineralisation intersected at the Sultan, Camel, Bandicoot, Fremlins and Hutch’s Find prospects
  • Detailed aeromagnetic coverage completed across the ~2,500 sq. km project
  • Orientation surveys and a review of historical surface geochemical data delivers pathway to rapid evaluation of previously unexplored regions
  • Detailed prospect assessment, targeting and prospect ranking program in progress to direct focussed 2023 exploration and drilling programme

The West Tanami Gold Project covers a vast area of the highly prospective Tanami Gold Province of Western Australia. The 2022 field activities completed by Hamelin Gold were very successful in identifying new zones of gold mineralisation at several prospects and demonstrating the potential for a major gold discovery within the project area,” Managing Director Peter Bewick said.

“Maiden diamond drilling programmes were completed at five prospects, supported by the WA Government EIS co-funded drilling program.

“The completion of detailed aeromagnetics coverage across the entire project and the evaluation of various innovative surface geochemical techniques has provided a modern toolkit to rapidly evaluate large regions within the project that have seen little to no previous exploration activity.

“The detailed assessment of the 2022 programme and a project wide targeting and ranking exercise is in progress which will focus a major follow-up exploration and drilling programme in 2023.”

During the 2022 field season 10 diamond drill holes were completed across six separate prospects with five of these prospects being subject to diamond drilling for the first time. A total of 4,117 metres of diamond drilling was completed with EIS co-funding support from the WA Government via three separate grants. The programmes recorded significant highlights such as:

  • High grade gold mineralisation discovered at the Sultan Prospect in a single hole program of 7.6 metres at 3.2 g/t Au from 326.2 metres including 1.1 metres at 15.9 g/t Au from 329.7 metres
  • Wide zone of gold mineralisation with high grade veins identified at the Camel Prospect
  • Confirmed gold mineralisation associated with significant pyrrhotite alteration at Bandicoot
  • Broad depth-extensive gold mineralisation on the western limb of an untested antiform fold axis at Fremlins completion of the northern wet season.
