Kin Mining NL (ASX: KIN) is confident it is onto something significant with further drilling success at the Cardinia Hill prospect, located approximately 2.5km east of the proposed processing plant site at its 100%-owned Cardinia Gold Project (CGP) near Leonora in Western Australia.
Managing Director, Andrew Munckton, said the latest results correlate with and build on the significant drilling results announced over the past few weeks, continuing both to confirm significant shallow mineralisation as well as to increase the company’s geological understanding of these emerging discoveries.
The new results have further extended the footprint of the Cardinia Hill discovery along strike to the north and down-dip, while also suggesting the presence of a cross-cutting structural host to the mineralisation, as opposed to the stratigraphy-parallel interpretation initially developed.
We are continuing to build the geological picture at Cardinia Hill, with the latest results providing further important insights into what appears to be a significant zone of shallow mineralisation extending over a 500m strike length,” Mr Munckton said.
“The final batch of assays from the recent RC programme have continued to define high-grade zones and confirmed extensions of the mineralisation along strike to the north and down-dip.
“We now have a much clearer picture of the orientation and controls on the mineralised lodes, and we are looking forward to getting back into the field as soon as possible to drill out this exciting discovery to facilitate a maiden JORC Mineral Resource estimate.
“Cardinia Hill is just one of several emerging areas that we plan to drill aggressively in the coming months. While the final assays from the air-core program at Helens East were unsuccessful in confirming a significant northern extension of the Cardinia Hill mineralisation, there is plenty of follow-up work to do at Helens East and Helens South.
“We are awaiting final assays from Lewis East, which should be reported shortly, and planning is already underway on our next phase of exploration – which will encompass Cardinia Hill, Helens South/East, Comedy King/Faye Marie and other emerging areas that will be described more fully in an Exploration Update to be provided in the coming weeks.”
The latest assay results included:
- Cardinia Hill RC 8m at 3.81g/t Au from 4m;8m at 2.38g/t from 18m and 9m at 2.31g/t from 56m; 4m at 5.15g/t from 32m and 6m @ 1.92g/t from 66m; 9m @ 1.72g/t from 42m.
- Helens East AC 4m at 0.55g/t Au from 28m.
Further drilling is planned to step out from these results and define the extent of this area of the deposit.
