Australia’s Lindian Resources (ASX: LIN) has appointed well regarded contractor Sahara Natural Resources to complete the company’s Phase 1 drilling programme at the Gaoual Bauxite Project in Guinea.

The initial programme will comprise up to 34 auger holes drilled at approximately 600m spacings to test the depth, grade and scale of the Bouba Plateau – which is the primary conglomerate bauxite target within the Gaoual Project.

First results from the Phase 1 drilling are expected to be received in December 2019.

“This is another key step towards commencing our Phase 1 drilling programme at Gaoual and we are very pleased to be partnering with Sahara who have an excellent international reputation and strong local capabilities to deliver,” Lindian’s managing director Shannon Green said.

In line with our recently fast-tracked timeline, permitting at Gaoual is on-track to be completed ahead of drill equipment mobilisation in late November.

“With the first hole set to be drilled in December, we are confident of having initial results from this program by calendar year end. I look forward to reporting further updates as we move closer towards commencement of drilling at Gaoual.”
