MTM Critical Metals’ continued intercepts of visual rare earth has again extended the zones of rare earth and niobium mineralisation at Pomme as diamond drilling continues over its swiftly emerging Québecois asset.
Three completed holes testing for higher-grade rare earth and niobium mineralisation within the project’s carbonatite complex intersected the new zones of mineralisation to the northwest, confirming a spread extending more than one kilometre northward of the historical drill holes which drew MTM to its Canadian territory.
A ‘scissor’ hole also confirmed a mineralised zone in the southwest corner of the target area at shallower depths, and samples have been sent away for assay.
MTM Managing Director Lachlan Reynolds said the latest holes were starting to shape the company’s understanding of the carbonatite complex and the rare earths held within.
The work to-date has confirmed that mineralisation extends more than one kilometre to the north of the historical drill holes, indicating that it is a very big system. We are excited to be now testing new areas of the carbonatite complex in an effort to discover higher-grade mineralisation that could be a new REE resource,” Mr Reynolds said.
Rearing rare earth
Assays are expected to start coming in next month, and MTM plot around 5000 metres of drilling is planned as its first-pass test of the Pomme carbonatite complex and REE-Nb mineralisation.
MTM is also moving to expand its rare earths closer to its Perth home, having launched an expanded geochemical sampling program to extend known mineralisation of its clay-hosted Pt Kidman prospect within its expansive multi-commodity East Laverton landholdings.
And with adept metallurgist and rare earth expert Anthony Hadley now on deck at MTM, the explorer is primed to develop its assets and strike into a market in dire need of diversification.
