The Pilbara’s only independent processing plant, the Radio Hill operations, continues to get a spring clean, with owner Artemis Resources (ASX:ARV) rapidly progressing the gold circuit, which is set to reach completion next quarter.
Located 35 kilometres from Karratha, Radio Hill has had a series of works completed, such as the installation of a tertiary crusher and a a new high-voltage power corridor which will see the upgraded site ready to roll.
Artemis reports that works at the milling and classification area are also underway, as well as internal plant electrical works.
The gold circuit represents the first stage of development for Radio Hill, with the pilbara miner eyeing multi-metal capabilities for the plant.
Artemis has produced some of the nation’s top cobalt hits at its nearby Carlow Castle project and is also developing a handful of other highly prospective base, battery and precious metals projects located within 40km of Radio Hill as part of its “hub-and-spoke” strategy.
Commenting on the progress at the processing plant, Artemis chief executive officer Wayne Bramwell said:
“After the initial delay associated with approvals, the construction and refurbishment work associated with the gold circuit will be completed next quarter.
“The Installation of this gold circuit at Radio Hill is Stage 1 of our strategic plan and begins the process to expand the multi-metal capability of the Radio Hill Operations,” he said.
Radio Hill has previously had more than $60 million spent on its operations between 1988 and 2002 and was last operated by Fox Resources in 2008.
Artemis Resources collected the project in March 2017 with the aim of developing the plant to service its tenements and the broader Pilbara region.
The refurbishment works commenced on the 20th August 2018.
