Tesoro Resources Limited (ASX: TSO) has received further positive assay results from the Ternera (formerly Coquetas) prospect at the El Zorro Gold Project, Chile.

The assays revealed that all holes have successfully intersected the targeted “CC” faults, and all returned significant intercepts of gold mineralisation consistent with Tesoro’s geological model.

Managing Director, Zeff Reeves, said drilling has also identified previously undrilled fault zones.

The CC fault zones continue to produce high quality drill results,” Mr Reeves said.

“Tesoro has now delineated 9 of these faults at Ternera and with all returning high grade results, the El Zorro project continues to grow.

“These results further validate the exploration model and our ability to effectively target drilling into the most productive mineralised structures both expanding existing mineralised zones and delineating new ones.

“Every drill hole is adding value to the project and we are excited by what lies ahead.”

New hole ZDDH00023 has extended the high grade CC500 fault a further 50m to the NW, intersecting high grade mineralisation.

Tesoro believes this is particularly encouraging as it demonstrates the continuity of the high-grade CC structures into the sedimentary country rocks while still containing significant high grade gold mineralisation.

ZDDH00023 also intersected mineralisation at 273.00m down hole hosted within the El Zorro Tonalite (EZT). This intercept is interpreted to be related to the western extension of the CC450 fault zone.

A second hole, ZDDH00025, intersected a wide zone of mineralisation linking the CC425 to the CC450 fault zones.

Tesoro said the intercept demonstrates the potential for continuous zones of gold mineralisation to occur between consecutive CC faults, where deformation of the host EZT is significant enough to allow gold mineralisation to form.

As part of Tesoro’s work programs at the El Zorro project the Company has engaged Cube Consulting Pty Ltd to manage the company’s geological database and provide geological consulting services.

Cube’s preliminary review of the diamond hole drilling results has confirmed Tesoro’s interpretation of higher-grade mineralisation is associated with the CC structures at El Zorro.
