Voltaic Strategic Resources’ maiden reconnaissance drilling has confirmed the pegmatites at the Andrada prospect line up with the classic ‘Goldilocks’ model for lithium caesium tantalum mineralisation, with initial results showing grades going upward as it descends into its Ti Tree Lithium project in the West Australian Gascoyne.

Tantalum grades were also shown to be increasing radially outward. Voltaic plan extensive drilling to be carried out over Ti Tree, with a total of over 400 mapped pegmatites and 18 regional priority target areas expected to be the beginning.

Voltaic Chief Executive Officer Michael Walshe said early drilling had provided a wealth of insights to fast-track the next drilling stage.

The tenor of mineralisation encountered is highly encouraging in the context of vectoring to prime parts within LCT pegmatite systems where fractionation and complexity of zonation result in highly variable compositions over short distances,” Mr Walshe said.

“Drilling has confirmed that the pegmatites at Andrada are conformable to the classic LCT ‘Goldilocks’ model with fractionation increasing outward in a northeast direction towards the Morpheus and Akira prospect areas,” he added.

“Field reconnaissance is ongoing at both prospects right now to identify our next generation of drill targets which we hope to test this quarter. Voltaic is just at the beginning of the exploration journey at Ti Tree with 400+ pegmatites yet to be tested and only a small fraction of the tenure explored.”

Next steps

Incoming geophysical and photogrammetry surveys will continue to establish a pecking order of targets at Ti Tree, and planning is underway for extensive follow-up campaigns.

Both the Morpheus and Akira target trends are interpreted to reside within the LCT goldilocks zone at Ti Tree. They are next in line for the drill as Voltaic, with remaining results from Andrada expected within the next two weeks as it continues down the path of rare earth production in the same Gascoyne province.
