Australian oil and gas powerhouse Woodside throws its weight behind next year’s event;
With the support of NERA and other industry groups, it will provide key content for popular “free” Industry Forums.
Diversified Communications, the organiser of the 2018 Australasian Oil & Gas Exhibition & Conference (AOG2018), is pleased to announce that Australia’s largest independent dedicated oil and gas company Woodside Petroleum and National Energy Resources Australia (NERA) have taken up the high-profile roles as Principal Sponsors of next year’s event.
Woodside and the Australian Government-backed NERA, will join the City of Perth and the Western Australian Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science and Innovation as Principal Sponsors of Australia’s largest oil and gas event.
NERA and Woodside have also committed to provide significant input into the content and organisation of the free-to-attend Industry Forums that will be back by popular demand at AOG 2018.
Woodside was a significant participant in the inaugural staging of the Collaboration, Subsea and Knowledge Forums at AOG 2017, with the company’s Chief Operating Officer, Michael Utsler, commending the content and the success of AOG 2017 in bringing industry together.
“I can genuinely say we are very impressed and pleased with the nature of this conference and the changes that have been implemented to try and provide an integration between the trades themselves and the suppliers who are providing service and how problems are being solved,” Mr Utsler told media at AOG 2017.

“Clearly they have struck a very positive chord in what people are wanting to hear and to have an opportunity to hear, versus how it was delivered,” he added.
AOG 2018 Event Director, Bill Hare, said it was very pleasing to have Woodside and NERA again show such strong support for the event.
“The backing we have received from industry and government has been tremendous and it is a testament to the standing and importance of AOG – which we are proud to note is one of the longest running oil and gas events in this region.”
The industry forums will be just one part of what will be a packed AOG 2018 programme.
