David Tasker: [00:00:10] The Australian Bauxite story is an interesting one. Can you explain a little bit about the company.
Ian Levy: [00:00:15] Well we’re a company that from grass roots discovered a new type of bauxite occurrence in Australia. Australia is the world’s largest miner of bauxite, it’s a business we do very well, but there are many different types of bauxite and we found a special type of bauxite on the east coast of Australia. So we’re in the business of developing it to its max.
David Tasker: [00:00:41] And closely aligned to the China story? How is China from your experience?
Ian Levy: [00:00:46] China has gone through a very dramatic change. They were very upset with the performance of some countries who put taxes on exports to China and they saw that as being anti-Chinese. Australia proved its worth by not doing that despite our budgetary problems as a nation. We continue to be a reliable supplier and ABX wants to be part of that so China is now looking for regular reliable supply of the bulk commodities which is a good thing for us.
David Tasker: [00:01:22] And some of the recent milestones the companies achieved?
Ian Levy: [00:01:25] Well during the transition period there was a lot of frictional change in the market during 2015. So we turned to an alternative market which was the cement industry. Now cement is going through a fantastic boom right now. So it’s a good business to be in but our long term aim is to supply into China and into India in bulk whilst also servicing on a bespoke special speciality basis the cement industry.
David Tasker: [00:01:58] And some of the milestones investors should be focused on over the coming 6 to 12 months?
Ian Levy: [00:02:03] Well we always strive to assure our shareholders that we don’t want to do a capital raising but over the next 6 months we’re hoping to put two extra customers into our spread of customer base. We’re also focusing on technology. What’s the technology developments. We’re hoping to get the maximum value out of our bauxite which is extremely clean bauxite and you’ll see on several fronts we develop value-adding.
David Tasker: [00:02:33] Ian a lot to do over the next six to 12 months. Investors should keep an eye on it. Thanks for your time.
Ian Levy: [00:02:38] Absolutely. Thank you
