Perth-based Force Commodities (ASX: 4CE) has identified high-grade silver in a hand-held XRF assay of a grab sample at the Tshimpala Project in Malawi.
The 2.8kg grab sample of galena mineralisation taken at the Tshimpala Project returned exceptionally high- grade silver of 2,411 g/t.
The sample was taken from exposed galena mineralisation in a shallow artisanal mining pit located approximately two km south and along strike of the Grand Canyon Prospect.
Force Commodities Managing Director Jason Brewer said a conclusive determination of the assay of the galena mineralisation will be confirmed through further laboratory chemical analysis including LA–ICP–MS.
“The silver values of over 2,400 g/t returned from a grab sample, whilst preliminary in nature, clearly goes to further demonstrate the exceptionally high silver grades possible at the Tshimpala Project,” Mr Brewer said.
“As part of the ongoing exploration activities and the soon to commence RC drilling programme, we will be looking to report further results from the pitting and trenching work as well, and to complete further chemical assaying of the samples, which we are already looking forward to being able to report.”
Meanwhile, further assays from samples of pits and trenches at the company’s Tshimpala Project, including previously referred bulk sampling, is to be completed at the Grand Canyon, Small Canyon and Riverside Prospects as part of the company’s current exploration activities.
Force has also revealed that South African based drilling and exploration specialists Georoc Pty Limited has commenced its mobilisation plans to arrive on site and commence an initial 150-hole reverse circulation (RC) drilling programme at the Tshimpala Project later this month.
The RC drilling comprises an initial 2000m at the Tshimpala Project, with a further 500m programme to immediately follow and target encouraging areas identified from the initial phase of the drilling programme.
