Pilbara prospector Artemis Resources continues to develop one of the nation’s most intriguing cobalt plays with another round of high-grade hits from its Carlow Castle project coming from 1.2 kilometres of strike – estimated to be only 10% of the project’s potential.
The cobalt drilling unearthed some eyebrow-raising grades, including 16m at 0.94% Co.
The site also returned 6.5m @2.32% Co which was complemented with some exciting gold and copper grades. Grades from that same drill core posted 23.44g/t Au and 10.35% Cu.
All drill results have now been received from an extensive 24,655m drilling program, which was over a continuous strike of 1.2km from a target of over 12km.
Commenting on the continued high-grade results found at the Pilbara project, Artemis Resources executive director Ed Mead said:
Carlow Castle was one of the first ever cobalt discoveries in Australia in the 1920’s and since intersecting cobalt grades up to 6.5% in the early stages of this drilling programme, this project continues to deliver outstanding results.
“Artemis is now making plans for an aggressive new drilling programme with multiple rigs to expand this resource well beyond what has been defined to date.
“Carlow Castle is a very exciting project and one that can add significant long-term value to Artemis,” he said.
The company reports that it is also working on a new JORC 2012 compliant resource which is being estimated from the recent drilling campaign.
The drilling at Carlow Castle has been focussed on infill as well as extend the 1.2km east-west strike, testing the possibility of a connected ore body between Artemis’s major deposits Quod Est, Carlow Castle South and Carlow Castle South East.
