New assay results continue to expand the known gold mineralisation at the Ternera prospect at Tesoro Resources Limited’s (ASX:TSO) El Zorro Gold Project in Chile.

Managing Director, Zeff Reeves, said all holes from the recently completed drilling programme at Ternera returned positive gold intercepts with hole ZDDH00075 confirming the continuity and scale of a new gold zone and extensions to the north east of Ternera between previously reported holes ZDDH00057 and ZDDH00069.

Holes ZDDH00071 and ZDDH00074 intercepted strong zones of previously unknown gold mineralisation on the southern margins of the deposit.

Drilling continues to expand the Ternera gold deposit. We are continually encouraged by the consistency and widespread nature of gold mineralisation in the Ternera system, with new gold zones now emerging to the south, where we have not previously drilled,” Mr Reeves said.

“The wide mineralised zone emerging to the north east is also expanding, and the continuity of mineralisation between holes over a large distance is encouraging. Gold mineralisation has now been confirmed over an area of 800m by 850m, from surface to over 400m depth and is open in all directions as Ternera continues to grow.”

Mr Reeves said sineralisation remains open in all directions.

Significant new intercepts include:

Hole ZDDH00075

  • 220.00m @ 0.86g/t Au from 76.00m, including; 39.00m @ 2.73g/t Au from 270.00m;
  • 15.50m @ 5.49g/t Au from 270.00m and;
  • 10.80m @ 1.44g/t Au from 328.00m.

Hole ZDDH00071

  • 71.00m @ 0.80g/t Au from 25.00m, including; 8.00m @ 4.18g/t Au from 88.00m.

Hole ZDDH00074

  • 27.00m @ 1.16g/t Au from 89.00m, including; 2.00m @ 8.06g/t Au from 114.00m.

The company has recommenced drilling at Ternera with an initial four diamond drill rigs operating 24 hour per day to complete an initial 30,000m drill program to continue to define and expand the Ternera deposit at El Zorro.

It has also commenced data collection for initial scoping study inputs and will run scoping study work in parallel with drilling programs at El Zorro.

Mr Reeves said in the coming months, the company will also commence detailed metallurgical, geotechnical, hydrological and infrastructure studies to advance the El Zorro Gold Project as quickly as possible.
