Tesoro Resources Limited (ASX: TSO) has further extended the known mineralised zone at the Ternera prospect within the El Zorro Gold Project in Chile.

Managing Director Zeff Reeves said Ternera is the first of five targets identified at El Zorro to be drilled and assays to date and assays from six holes all returned positive results, intersecting multiple gold bearing zones.

Tesoro’s drilling success continues at El Zorro with another solid set of assay results,” Mr Reeves said.

“These results are particularly significant as they are defining a set of continuous high-grade structures developing in the south west sector of Ternera, as well as showing significant scope for expansions to the north west.

“El Zorro really is shaping up as a significant gold system, with multiple mineralised styles present.”

Hole ZDDH00041 returned shallow mineralisation from the CC200 fault zone. High grade intercepts of 0.50m @ 29.90g/t Au from 127.50m and 5.00m @ 5.91g/t Au from 140.00m were returned from the CC175 and a linking fault between the CC175 and CC200. This hole has further defined an emerging high-grade gold zone associated with the CC150 and CC200 faults.

Hole ZDDH00043 was an infill drill hole and intercepted mineralisation associated with CC350 and CC400 fault zones, and adjacent sheeted veining associated with these faults.

Hole ZDDH00044 was drilled to test a deep Induced Polarisation anomaly on the western edge of the projected northern extension of the Ternera mineralised zone.

The hole returned a narrow intercept associated with quartz veining within pelitic sediments. Results from this hole indicate that the Ternera mineralisation remains open to the north and northwest.

Hole ZDDH00047 was drilled to test the south east extensions of the Ternera mineralisation. The hole returned a broad, shallow intercept associated with CC300 and CC350 fault zones.

A well-defined high-grade zone was intercepted within the CC300 fault zone of 2.00m @ 11.00g/t Au and correlates well with mineralisation previously reported from ZDDH00038 approximately 70m to the north along the fault.

Hole ZDDH00047 and ZDDH00050 were drilled to extend the interpreted Ternera high grade gold zone to the west and to the north. Both holes successfully intercepted mineralisation associated with the CC400 to CC425 fault zones and adjacent sheeted vein complexes.

These holes have successfully expanded the Ternera high grade gold zone to the north west and mineralisation remains open to the north west and at depth.

Holes ZDDH00067 and ZDDH00068 have recently been completed to further expand this mineralised zone and are awaiting assays.
