NPJV continues to reinforce its position as a mining and construction contractor of choice with the commencement of drill pad and access track earthworks for Calidus Resources’ Warrawoona Gold Project.
The 12-month project will employ three NPJV personnel and was awarded based on the company’s track record in delivering similar works for Atlas Iron’s Mt Webber Dalton’s drilling project.
The latest contract Kicks off an exciting year for NPJV which launched in November 2016 with only three employees and an ambitious plan to introduce a new concept in Native Title contracting.
Managing Director, Scott Dryland, said NPJV is now employing over 60 people with 50 per cent being Njamal people – the traditional owners of the land stretching east of South Hedland, past Marble Bar and out to Wandanyaon the Great Sandy Desert.

“The key to our growth has definitely been providing clients with the ability to engage a Native Title Party without compromising budget, schedule or safety.”
NPJV – a joint venture between Pilbara Resource Group and Njamal Services – is led by strategic management and technical professionals who deliver the qualifications and skillsets necessary to take on larger scale projects.
Projects are broken down into manageable pieces for Njamal people to take on as employees, or sub-contracted directly to Njamal family businesses.
Mr Dryland said since NPJVs inception, four sustainable Njamal business had been established to service the company’s contracts, and he expects this number to grow in 2018.
“In addition to the technical and operational expertise being invested in to the local family businesses, ongoing administration, IT and accounting support is provided,” he said.
“These successful Njamal family businesses create opportunities which mean the Njamal people don’t have to solely rely on minerals for their future.”
Mr Dryland said there is strong interest in NPJV’s capabilities and approach from outside the Pilbara and the company is excited about new geographical opportunities in the coming year.
